MISSION
FOSE Institute's mission is to provide educational conferences and forums to advance the application of technology innovations in government and to share best practices between government and industry.
Introducing the FOSE Institute
Over the past 35 years, FOSE has become recognized in government circles as the most comprehensive exposition for information technology ideas, solutions and applications for the missions of government.
For the past dozen years, 1105 Media’s Government Information Group, which publishes Federal Computer Week, Government Computer News, Washington Technology and Defense Systems, has also been producing annual conferences addressing the critical technology issues confronting government.
By expanding on FOSE’s presence in the government market and introducing the FOSE Institute, 1105 Media's Events group is taking a new step forward to create greater educational depth and practical value across our offering of conferences for the government technology community.
FOSE Institute will be building on a series of well-established technology conferences that have evolved as government technology demands changed over the past decade, including conferences on:
- Cloud computing
- Cybersecurity
- Enterprise Architecture
- Knowledge Management
We'll also be launching a new conference later this year on geospatial information tools that can help non-technical managers in government and industry improve the decision-making processes within their organizations.
Part of what will distinguish FOSE Institute conferences is a new outreach effort to identify fresh ideas from experts within government, industry and academia to address government technology policy and implementation challenges. We will also strive to provide a variety of free or low-cost opportunities for government agencies to showcase their best ideas and practices for the broader government technology market and steer clear of the practice of allowing companies to buy their way on to our conference programs.
FOSE Institute will also be contributing to the 35th annual FOSE Conference and Expo, taking place July 19-21, 2011 in Washington, D.C., by developing a number of new national conference education programs directly addressing the needs of government agencies and industry, including new conference sessions and exhibits on:
- Applications for the mobile government workforce
- Network and cyber security
- Defense innovations
- Cloud computing and data center strategies
- Federal IT outlook for 2012 and beyond
Our goal is to listen carefully to top leaders in the government technology community--and then bring together the best ideas, experts and practices we can find to address the critical IT issues that matter to government.
